Stow On The Wold
Published by jacko77 on Mon Aug 24th, 2009

Stow-On-The-Wold is small, but well known town that is situated on the Roman Fosse Way in the Cotswold Hills close to the north east corner of the county of Gloucestershire and is a market town of approximately 2000 people.  It is well known for being the centre of antique shops that line up the narrow and steep alleyways that once got used for directing sheep into the market square.

The market square is large and impressive that is surrounded by houses, craft shops, tea shops and galleries which are all built in the local Cotswold stone around the 16th century, it gives out the feeling of what the town life was like many centuries ago.

As well as being known for the antique shops it's also the highest town in the Cotswold at nearly 800ft high which can be reached uphill from every direction.
