Chao Phraya River Cruise
Published by jacko77 on Mon Jul 6th, 2009

A Chao Phraya River Cruise in Bangkok will give the visitor an overall feel of what historical legacies have been left behind by the many kings.  When taking a river cruise down the Chao Phraya you will come across rickety old wooden houses on stilts which is a stark contrast to the modern day properties across the city of Bangkok.

Another amazing scene is how the local businesses go from house to house selling their goods offering riverside services, but one of the most spectacular views you will encounter on a river cruise is the King Rama VIII Bridge which is a suspension bridge that stands out like a giant statue over looking the river.

You will pass through a total of eight bridges in the entire river cruise, but nearby the King Rama VIII Bridge is the Bang Khun Phrom Palace which is used to house the Bank of Thailand Museum.  As you get further upriver the tourist feel starts to fade away and there is more of a community life being built around the river life.
