With between an estimated 30,000-50,000 tourists from all over the world descending into this small town during this week long festival to participate in this brutal battle of tomato throwing fiesta at its best, you will easily get through 240,000 pounds of over-ripe tomatoes in this tomato slinging one hour frenzy on the streets of Bunol.

Shops and businesses cover up using huge plastic covers over there store fronts for this hour long of onslaught tomato fighting fiesta.  Other things that happen through this week long festival are music, parades, dancing and fireworks.

It is a tradition that women wear all white and the guys have no shirt on so if your planning on going to the tomato fight festival, it is advisable to wear some of your old clothes because of the chances of permanently ruing them.

There is limited accommodation when visitors come to the La Tomatina and because of that most tourists stay in Valencia which is about 37km away and travel to Bunol by bus or train.
