Published by jacko77 on Mon Oct 5th, 2009

Seville ( Sevilla ) is a great city in the south of Spain with its magical atmosphere and a mixture of the upbeat modern city and its ancient narrow streets, historical buildings and the second most important city to Madrid for bullfighting.

With the Cathedral and the Giralda being the most important attractions and the most symbolic for Seville in the world.  The Cathedral being of Gothic style was built in the 15th century and is one of the largest of all in its class from all christianism.

Then the Giralda is an amazing tower with its old steeple of the Mosque temple in a Roman-Greek style.  With easy access you are able to ascend the 70metres to reach the highest point and get an astonishing view of this great city.

Seville is also a city full of vibrant music, dancing, folklore and the locals have a habit of letting their hair down.  You will come across music bars where jazz music is played and the Flamenco dance is well performed with colourful dresses and this will give you a true taste of the real inner spirit of the Andalucian people.

Then with the two major festivals offered on a grand scale with the Semana Santa carnival on during the week before easter and the April Feria carnival which lasts for a week at the end of the month with its flamenco music and dancing, parades and bullfights in a enthusiastic atmosphere.
