San Fermin Festival in Pamplona Spain

San Fermin Festival is one of the best known festivals in Pamplona, Spain because of the well known 'Bull Running' that takes place on the streets of Pamplona each year from the 7th July to 14th July every year.   With the bull runs starting at around 8am every morning with mainly young men that will run in front of the bulls and lead them from the pens into the bull ring.  

The runners will wait at the bottom of the run waiting for the first rocket to go off which will signify that the bulls have been released and the second rocket signifies that the bull are now released on the street and running.  This run will usually last no more than 3 minutes but can be an exciting but dangerous experience and should only be done by runners who are willing to live their life close to the edge.  If the bulls do get close to you running at 35mph there is gaps in the fetch to slip through.  

With around 1 million people attending the bull run every year, it is advisable to book your hotel well in advance because there is only around 2400 beds available to visitors who want to come and experience or even give the bull run a go.

As well as the bull run there is plenty of music, dancing and drinking that takes place on the streets which brings this small city with of a population of 300,000 to life during this 1 week festival.
