Published by jacko77 on Fri Oct 9th, 2009

Flamenco dancing as been around for hundreds of years and is a local tradition of the Spanish culture which is a passionate and seductive art form that is a often performed amongst the many fiestas and celebrations that happen around cities, towns and villages in Spain with an overflow of music and dance.

The most common image of the Flamenco dance is its variety of colourful dresses, romancing, silk shawls and hand painted fans in an amazing array of styles, designs and colours.   With the old men wearing their straw hats and the couples dancing at the Sevilla fiesta in this amazing part of southern Spain.

The flamenco dance is a must see for anyone who visits Spain, but to get a real taste of a true flamenco is to visit one of the major cities such as Seville during the fiesta week.  The most sought after souvenirs are flamenco dolls, fans, bulls and anything that is associated with this art form.

Spain is a culture where the fiestas are celebrated in nearly every town one week of the year with a week of dressing in the traditional Spanish costumes and parade the street to the tune of flamenco dancing and music.
