Off-Road Expedition to Chiang Mai
Off-roading is another popular activity for the adventurers at heart who are interested in crossing a country off the beaten tracks. In Thailand, Chiang Mai is an off-roading haven with trips and expeditions that lasts up to 3 days. The unpaved, rugged terrain in the northern region of Thailand is the perfect location for off-roading.

One of the popular trails for off-road driving a 4x4 through the thick tropical jungles is from Pai to Meahongson. It is a three day route on the vehicle, stopping at interesting locations along the way and savoring the local lifestyle from one village to another. Part of the package would also include visiting the tribal villages on the Chiang Mai trail, which includes Longneck Karen, the Hmong, the red Karen, the black Lahu and the red Lahu, and the Lisu hill tribe villages. There will also be activities like elephant rides, bamboo rafing and jungle trekking to accompany the 3 days off-roading expedition. Other vehicle choices like motorbikes and bicycles are also available for the off-road trails.

Facilities for off-roading in Thailand are extremely well prepared and safe. Chartered guides and companies are abundant in providing packages that suits your needs. Packages for off-road trails usually start at USD500 for 2-3 persons for a 3 day trail and it includes meals, accommodation and activities throughout the trail.
