Sitting on the southern border of Peru is Lake Titicaca with its beautiful blue waters and mystical feeling, it is claimed to be the highest river in the world covering an estimated 8300 square km. It is also home to the Aymara and Quechua which are some of the oldest Peruvian people in the country.
Not only does it have magical, sacred and amazing dark blue coloured waters, but it is also home to some of the most beautiful islands such as the Floating Islands and the Island of the Sun which are scattered throughout this tranquil lake and can be easily visited by a couple of nearby towns of Puno and Copacabana.
Lake Titicaca has been classed as a sacred place among the indigenous and andean people for a long time and is seen to be in touch with the spirit of Mama Qota also known as the Sacred Mother. They believe that powerful spirits live in the deep depths of the lake.
With it's amazing altitude and intense sun, which covers an estimated 550 cubic meters of water per second, the morning break and sunset having amazing views for you to experience and will stay firmly in the back of your memory for years to come.
