Mulu Caves: The World's Largest Underground Chambers

Malaysia is blessed with excellent spots for cave exploration due to natural surroundings and abundance caves. One of the most famous spot for cave exploration lies within the heart of Gunung Mulu, in East Malaysia's state of Sarawak called the Mulu Caves. The intricate network of caves is one of the longest and largest in the world. The Mulu Caves also houses the largest natural underground chamber, the Sarawak Chamber, that can accommodate forty Boeing 747!
There are many cave passages to explore in Mulu Caves and one of the longest caves is called the Deer Cave, which can fit five large cathedrals. What is wonderful about Mulu Caves is that most parts of the cave network within the mountain are largely unexplored. Cave explorer enthusiasts will find a lot of challenge going through the Mulu Caves. However, it is extremely important for all cave explorers to have a guide with them as most of the caves, explored and unexplored, are unmapped.
Some cave operators also offer cave diving, for the adventurist at heart this can be an exciting opportunity to dive into some of the world's most purist falls. There are several different comfort levels of cave exploration available for those who are new to the activity to the more seasoned explorers. Cave rappelling are also available in Mulu Caves. During the evenings, a spectacular view of swarming bats and swiftlets soaring through the cave opening is a unique experience that many will enjoy.
Explorers are not allowed to stay overnight in the caves but there will be many accommodations outside close proximity to the caves. Local cave operators usually have packages that include cave explorations, equipments and lodging.
