Milan Italy

Milan is the capital city of Lombardy and is the second largest and wealthiest city in Italy. With its cosmopolitan feeling and it;s historical traditions, it's been built around the rulers who had to re-build the city 3 times over but Milan was successfully built under the rule of the French, Spanish and Austrian rulers from 1499 until 1870.
With so much past about Milan, its surprising that there is still so much rich history about this city and to this day one of the traditions the locals still follow is their strong religious believes that the city was built on and help by paying a special tax towards the maintenance of the cathedral.
Milan as become more famous for being the marketplace for the Italian fashion, supermodels and international paparazzi that descend onto the city twice a year for the spring and autumn fairs which has carefully guarded its reputation for being one of the top cities in Europe for its flair and creativity.
The city is also in close proximity from the Italian lakes which are amazingly beautiful with their colourful and vibrant mountain ranges, fresh air, all year round good weather and villages scattered all around the lakes that seem to have stopped in time.
The lakes are well worth visiting for a weekend away from the city, with Lake Como being the more famous one out of the several lakes it is still very beautiful, but it's been considered my many tourists that Lake Maggiore is the most stunning out the lot.
