Untouched jewel of Central America

El Salvador is a relatively undiscovered gem of Central America populated by happy, friendly people who are relatively untouched by commercial tourism. Located on the Pacific coast of Central America El Salvador has Guatemala to it west, Honduras to its north and the Pacific Ocean to its south. The landscape of El Salvador is dominated by rugged mountain peaks covered in mist which contain several extinct volcanoes the largest of these is San Salvador the capital of El Salvador. There is still much to explore and see here, such as the town of Alegria which is the flowering growing capital of the country located high in the mountains with numerous nurseries, patches and fields bursting with blooms. The Parque Nacional los Volcanoes comprises three prominent Volcanoes in the center of the country the Cerro Verde, the Izalco and the Santa Ana which erupted suddenly in 2005.
