Where am I ?HomeCyprus

An island with plenty to explore
The breathtaking island of Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located to the south of Turkey and to the west of Syria. The island is actually two separate countries as a part of northern Cyprus which composes a third of the island has been taken over by the Turks and is called the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is recognized only by Turkey while the southern part of the island which is called the Republic of Cyprus is the country more widely recognized.

The island is characterized by the gorgeous sun dappled beaches of Agia Napa in the south along which are many pounding nightclubs which see a constant traffic of young tourist revelers who travel here from other parts of the globe. The beaches of the Karpaz Peninsula in the north are relatively deserted compared to the southern beached. The island also has two main mountain ranges, the Kyrenia Range in the north and the Troödos in the south. These mountains have traditional picturesque mountain villages, hill resorts and many Byzantine churches and monasteries. Between these two ranges lies the Mesaoria Plain on which the divided capital of Nicosia is located.
