Manuel Antonio National Park
Published by jacko77 on Tue Jun 16th, 2009

Manuel Antonio National Park is the countrys smallest park, but is one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the world to this day.  It covers around 683 hectares of stunning views and a diverse selection of wildlife, including some of the most rare that can only be found here in Costa Rica.

Manuel Antonio National Park has some of the most picture perfect views, with its combination of rain forests, coral reefs and beaches.

The beaches themselves are in excellent condition, they are surrounded by lush forests and pristine clear water, which makes this one of the many parks Costa Rica as to offer a paradise on earth for anyone into their snorkelling or surfing.

The park itself is located south of the town of Quepos, which has a good selection of accommodation for visitors of all types, weather you be a backpacker or holiday maker.

When visiting the park, you will be spoilt with choice and diversity of wildlife.  With Cathedral Point once being an island that has forest topped cliffs, its now connected to the coast by a thin strip of land, which separates the parks two most popular beaches, which are Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio.

The Playa Manuel Antonio beach is a half mile long that as stunning scenery with white sand and lush greenage on one side and a private cove to the other.  It is very easy to believe that you are in no-mans land when on either beach, but the views are worth the visit alone.
