China is not exactly a country, they say. It is a whole new world within a world. It has a history that dates back to 6 millennia and that is something to take into account when you travel around China. Ancient history wrapped in a currently booming and modern civilized world.
China is a cultural region, ancient civilization, and nation in East Asia. Since its last civil war, China has been divided into two parts; Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC) – which governs mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and Republic of China (ROC) – which administers Taiwan and its surrounding islands. This country is almost as old as time, with the longest continuously used written language system, and the source to some of the world’s greatest invention.
Culture in China dates back to thousands of years, everything from eating to writing to sleeping has a history that relates to it. Visiting China will always be an interesting journey. Not only will you be immersed in its culture, which is unlike anything you have ever experienced before, you will also experience a whole new world of ancient monuments and ruins scattered all over its land and the historical value that it imparts. China has it all – for adventure buffs, history enthusiasts, and for the shopaholics.
