Rio de Janeiro is one of the most visited cities in the world, weather it is for the famous Rio carnival or its sizzling hot beaches. Rio sits on the magnificent natural setting of the Guanabara Bay which is around 20km. Then with its crystal clear sea, white sandy beaches and the city moulded into the surrounding mountains it is and amazing scene to experience.
With the mountains being the backdrop of the entire city streets and buildings, it will give you a sense of amazement with its jaw breaking views. Most visitors who come here associate Rio for its beaches and festivals.
However there is a lot more in Rio than what is initially expected, with it being one of the largest cities in Brazil it also has plenty of other attractions. With Rio being the former capital of the country it also as plenty of historical heritage on offer.
Its as some of the country's best museums and galleries, fantastic restaurants and a brilliant night life. There is loads to see and do here, that just spending a week or two here you can easily have a non stop jam packed break and still won't be ready to come home.
